June 29th & the “Girandola di Castel Sant’Angelo”

Hello, Moodners!

Did you know that Monday 29th is a special day here in Rome?
It’s the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul, patrons of the Eternal City.

The Feast of Saints Peter and Paul commemorates the martyrdom of the two early Christians. Legend has it that these two saints were martyred on the same day – Paul via beheading, and Peter by way of upside down crucifixion.

To celebrate this special day, at 9.30 p.m., for its eighth edition, returns the “Girandola di Castel Sant’Angelo” (or Catherine wheel): a thirty-minute firework display over the historic castle.

Be sure not to miss this amazing show!

When: Monday, June 29th
Where: the best spot to admire the fireworks are Lungotevere Tor di Nona, Lungotevere Altoviti, Ponte Vittorio Emanuele II, Ponte Principe Amedeo Savoia Aosta, Ponte Umberto I or Via Banco Spirito
